Academic Program

 

The SMA Academic Program utilizes Appropriate Curriculum which is based on the developmental characteristics and maturational timetables of students. Subject matter content in the different academic areas evolves from value-curriculum. Meaningful opportunities are provided for language development and literacy. Physical and aesthetic development is recognized as significant components of the SMA curriculum.

 

Reinforcement Program

As part of this academic program, remedial instructions are given to children who are found to be deficient in certain concepts or skills being mastered for the quarter.

 

Parents of those who need remedial help will be notified. When the student is ready to cope with the flow of his or her classmates, he/she is released and the other students are taken for the same purpose.
